Fixed-term lecturer in work and organizational psychology

At Utrecht University, department of Social, Health and Organizational Psychology, we are currently looking for a

Fixed-term lecturer in work and organizational psychology (0.8 FTE)

Job description
The candidate will predominantly teach in both the undergraduate BSc Psychology and graduate Psychology MSc program, and especially in the courses that are part of the Work and Organizational curriculum, as well as thesis supervision at the BSc and MSc levels in this area. Given the expertise of the other members of the department, we are especially interested in candidates who have skills and knowledge (at an academic level) in the area of train-the-trainer programs, psychology of coaching and consultancy, organisational development and interventions, and communication skills. Ability to act as a supervisor for the Dutch base qualification psychodiagnostics (BAPD) will be appreciated.

Qualifications asked
The successful candidate:
• has at least three years (and preferably more) of practical, hands-on experience with the topics taught;
• holds a PhD (completed or near completion) in Work and Organizational or Social Psychology, or a related discipline;
• has a demonstrable interest in issues in work, organizational and occupational health psychology;
• has an academic attitude and feeling for working in an academic environment;
• has proven and excellent teaching skills;
• is fluent in English; preferably in Dutch as well;
• has the capacity to work in a team;
• has obtained the Utrecht University Basic Teaching Qualification or equal, or is willing to achieve this qualification in the near future

Terms of employment
We offer a 0.8 FTE position for a max period of two years. The gross salary - depends on qualifications and experience - ranges between €3,427 and €5,330 (scale 11/12 Collective Labour Agreement Dutch Universities) gross per month for a full-time employment.
Salaries are supplemented with a holiday bonus of 8 % and a year-end bonus of 8.3 % per year. We offer a pension scheme, collective insurance schemes and flexible employment conditions (multiple choice model). More information: working at Utrecht University.

The Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences has some 850 faculty and staff members, all providing their individual contribution to the training and education of young talent and to the research into and finding solutions for scientific and societal issues.

The position is available at the Department of Social, Health and Organizational Psychology. This department is part of the Faculty of Social and Behavioural Science of Utrecht University. The department’s research concentrates on three interrelated domains: Motivation, Self-regulation, and Performance, combining fundamental and applied approaches to study human cognition and behavior in the work/organizational, social and health contexts. Our teaching program roughly corresponds with these three contexts. Our staff largely teaches in the BSc Psychology undergraduate program (in the work/organizational, social and/or health psychology tracks) and in the English-taught MSc Social, Health and Organizational Psychology Master program. The yearly influx for this MSc program varies from 100-120 students, who choose one of three partly overlapping tracks: Work and Organizational Psychology, Social Psychology, or Health Psychology.
