Purpose and Main Duties
Following sustained success in the recruitment of students onto its programmes, the Department of Organizational Psychology seeks to recruit a Lecturer A/B (dependent on experience and track record) in leadership studies or an allied field. This role has been created to develop a cluster of expertise in leadership in the department, building on its partnership offerings with the Royal College of Physicians and a new MBA development with Central St Martins. Candidates will be expected to actively engage in the department’s research activities through publications in high quality journals, applications for research funding and collaborative research. They will take an active part in undergraduate and programmes including programme directorship roles and other relevant duties, to make a proactive contribution to the continued development of our programme portfolio.
Candidate Requirements
Ideally, you should have a PhD in Leadership/ Organizational/ Occupational Psychology or HRM/ HRD, be able to demonstrate or show that you are on track for a high-quality research track-record, consistent with future submission to the REF, and have clear plans for future research publications and funding applications. Ideally, you should be a Chartered Psychologist or eligible for Chartership, or be a Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development Member (CIPD). Given our current teaching and research priorities, we would especially encourage applications from candidates who are amenable to qualitative research paradigms and supervising postgraduate research in this area, drawing on innovative methodologies although applications from quantitative researchers are also welcome. We support staff to obtain fellowship of the Higher Education Academy. Your appreciation of diversity and working with mature learners is key, and your willingness to work with blended learning as appropriate.
