Post-doctoral position

ESSEC Business School, University Paris Seine

Full-time, fixed term of 1 year

We are seeking to recruit a post-doctoral researcher for a project funded by the Paris Seine Initiative, based at ESSEC Business School’s Paris campus in Cergy. The project is led by Karoline Strauss and Julija Mell (ESSEC), and Frederik Anseel (King’s College London).

At its four campuses in Cergy, La Defense, Singapore, and Rabat ESSEC has around 4,400 full-time students from 90 different countries. ESSEC’s leadership is founded on its capacity to create relevant and high-impact knowledge based on its faculty’s research activities. This postdoctoral project takes a novel approach to studying individuals’ future work selves, their representations of themselves in the future which reflect their aspirations in relation to work. The post-doctoral researcher will take the primary responsibility for data collection, oversee the data collection in the field, and conduct data analyses.

A candidate for this position should have completed his/her PhD in a social science discipline (psychology, management, or a related field). Researchers with an expressed interest in mental
models and identity will be a good fit. The ideal candidate will have strong methodological skills, particularly in social network analysis, as well as some experience in structural equation
modeling, analysis of longitudinal data, and multilevel modeling. Experience with the R programming environment is essential, while fundamental Java programming skills can be a
plus. A successful candidate will be fluent in English and, preferably, also in Dutch (as data collection will be conducted in Belgium). Knowledge of French is desirable, but not a
requirement. 

The position will start on 1st January 2018 or as soon as possible thereafter.
